Amazon is cutting about 14,000 corporate roles, roughly 4% of its white-collar workforce, as part of CEO Andy Jassy’s effort to streamline operations and reduce bureaucracy. Target will eliminate 1,800 roles, reducing its headquarters team by 8%.Christopher DelOrefice will take the role of CFO at Ulta Beauty, allowing interim CFO Chris Lialios to return to being Senior Vice President and Controller. DelOrefice joins the beauty retailer from medical technology company Becton Dickinson & Company, where he had served as CFO since 2021. Prior to that position, he worked for over 20 years at Johnson & Johnson.Chanel has appointed Katie Welch to a newly created role as Head of US Brand and Communications. Welch will oversee brand and corporate communications across Chanel’s US fashion and beauty divisions and join the US management committee, reporting to President Stéphane Blanchard. A veteran marketer, she was most currently Chief Marketing Officer at Rare Beauty, and held senior roles at The Honest Company and Hourglass Cosmetics.Romain Spitzer’s role has broadened at Fragrance, Group LVMH Beauty, where he has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer. In the new position, Spitzer will continue to lead LVMH Fragrance Brands as CEO while also taking on oversight of Fragrance Group LVMH Beauty.CEW has named Elana Drell Szyfer its new President. She succeeds Carlotta Jacobson, who has held the role since 1999, and will serve as the organization’s Executive Chair. Szyfer has been on the CEW board of governors for the past 10 years and most recently served as the Chief Executive Officer of RéVive Skincare.
